Music

On the Sunny Side of the Street

A collaboration with Abhay Sharma, one of the best saxophone players in India. The tune is a jazz standard called On the Sunny Side of the Street composed by Jimmy McHugh during the great depression and has been played by famous artists like Louis Armstrong, Sonny Sitt, Oscar Peterson, and many more jazz musicians.

Midnight in Harlem

A short Flute(Bansuri) solo I attempted on the beautiful track composed by the Tedeschi Trucks Band. This arrangement was done by the faculty and students at The Blue Note School of Music and performed at the Piano Man Jazz Club, Gurugram in 2019.

Chilli Sheikh

Music has no barriers of age, caste, or creed and Indian Culture is very rich and varied. This is what brings all music lovers together. This song was composed in 2021 when India was under lockdown for the second time.

The idea behind the track was to push myself and explore a certain style of music that I wasn’t too well versed with. So I decided to make a beat and asked my friend Sriharsh to write something and I loved what he came up with. The song covers three different dialects which are Hindi, Punjabi and English, and is fused with sounds of hip hop and dubstep music

Raag Brindavani Sarang

This is a piece that I recorded, produced and mixed. The track is a fusion of an Indian classical Raag Brindavani Sarang with electronic sounds, in an effort to give a fresh perspective to the concept of world music. It was a pleasure to record with the renowned flautist Rohit Prasanna and the very talented Saptak Sharma on tabla.

From Serenity to Madness

An original composition was written by Birraj Singh Taneja(Piano) and I for a competition held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In the competition, the participants were given a random theme which in this case was “From Serenity to Madness” and we were asked to compose a 3-4 minute composition. About 30 participants had applied from all over India and our composition bagged the First position.
